IN LOVING MEMORY
Susie Mae Bray died at the Arcadia Nursing Home in Gargatha, Virginia on Tuesday, September 17, 2002 as a result of diabetes.

She was born on April 1, 1923 to the late William and Gertrude Giddens Bray of Nassawadox, Virginia.  The oldest girl of fourteen children born after three boys, family thought it was an April fool's day prank upon announcement from the proud parents, we have a girl!.

Susie was educated in the public schools of Northampton County, Virginia and became a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Franktown, Virginia.  She left  the Virginia area for many years and returned only for visits and made it home again in he late 1980's.

Since living alone in Nassawsdox, she had loyal and concerned friends who cared for her as her Guardian Angels.  They were Brenda Sample Bailey of Exmore, Virgina and the Jones girls; Barbara, Dorothy and Anna  of Nassawadox, Virginia.

Susie had a very quiet spirit, an humble heart, and touched many because of it.  One who minded her own business, never said an unkind word about anyone.

She leaves to mourn: one sister, Margaret Bray White (husband) Ronnie White of St. Michaels, Maryland; one brother, Samuel L. Bray (wife) Diane Bray of Norfolk, Virginia; sister-in-law, Cleo Bray of Baltimore, Maryland; brother-in-law, Ernest Watts, Sr. of Cambridge, Maryland; many nieces and nephews; two aunts; one uncle; and a host of cousins and friends.

can really feel the pain,
but along with sunshine,
truly there will b e rain.
Sometimes the rain is heavy,
sometimes the rain is light,
but
Gid has that lasting shower,
taht shines forever bright.
Susie you have left me and your brother.
We are now down to two.
But just as you had t leave us,
we will also pass as you.
We love you.
