| ROBIN CLAUDETTE FISHER DAVIS was born September 3rd 1956 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Elsie Corinne Custis Fisher and William Wallace Fisher. She leaves behind her closest family which includes: husband of 22 years, Tommy Davis; mother, Corinne Custis Fisher; grandfather, Oliver Custis; sister, Jay Fisher Toomer; brother in law, David; Uncle and Aunt, Anthony and Renee Custis; nieces, Davianne and Haley Toomer; and cousins, Anthony and Christian Custis, as well as other cousins, but most of all friends.
*Robin graduated from MacDuffie School for Girls in Springfield, Ma. in 1974, attended Douglas College in New Brunswick, NJ 1974-1977 and was a Candidate for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Thomas Edison State College, Trenton, NJ. Robin had many friends. She was vivacious, friendly and giving. Robin lived life with a passion and a certain flare all her own. She easily befriended others and had a special love for animals. When we were kids, during our many summers here with our grandparents, I remember setting up a cat hospital where we would give baths to the stray cats in the neighborhood. Robin’s love for cats continued….to which Tommy can attest. *Robin had a special and unconditional love and acceptance of people. It did not matter what you did, what your last name was, or what anyone said about you, Robin would extend her arms, opened wide. She loved to laugh. Robin’s favorite times were Thanksgiving and Family Reunion. Robin thrived when she was surrounded by family and friends. *Robin’s heart was with children. She had an uncanny ability to get into their world. Most recently, Shelton, an autistic child to whom she served as a life coach for the last 2 years made great strides. However, one of Robin’s greatest contributions was to the young ladies that she mentored while at Northampton Extension / 4 H Clubs. Many of them have gone on to complete college and build successful careers. While serving under Mr. Deen, Robin built a 4 H franchise in the Northampton schools and developed the “steppers” who won a number of competitions. *Robin encouraged others to attain that which she had not yet acquired. However, Robin, this semester was completing a statistics course which was her last course necessary before receiving her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Robin knew that in January she would have her long awaited degree. *Even though we miss Robin here, we know that those who have a relationship with God, when we are absent from the body, we are present with God. Robin is now in the presence of those whom she loved and went to heaven before her: Grandmother, Elexzine Church Custis and her father William Fisher, Jack Parker, and Junior Shepherd to name a few. *Robin will be missed as a big sister. I remember Robin best as my protector, encourager, next to my Mom, she knew me best. She knew me back when. She knew all of my secrets and all of my deepest fears. She would say that I was her hero, but what I am not sure that she knew was that she was mine! The lesson that Robin leaves is unconditional love and acceptance of others. She was a wonderful gift from God. |
