ROBERT LEE MOSES, “Babe Bro”, was born in Cheapside, Virginia on March 7, 1922.  He was one of eight children born to the late Thomas Moses and Bessie Smith Moses.
Robert attended elementary school in Northampton County, Virginia.  Upon the death of his father, at the age of 14, Robert assumed his father’s position as a deep-water fisherman to help support his family.
Robert had a deep abiding faith in God and joined Ebenezer A.M.E. Church at an early age.
He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and faithfully served in World War II.
One of Robert’s passions in life was driving.  In 1948, he purchased his first truck.  Years later, he moved to New Jersey and worked in the construction business for a brief period.  Robert acquired another truck and returned to his true love, “The Trucking Business.”  He drove for years until his health began to fail.
No one was a stranger to him; he always had a smile and couldmake friends easily.  He enjoyed discussion with the boys and loved to express his point of view.  Robert loved many sports, but his favorite pastime was hunting and watching the game of baseball.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Carrie Banks (Oliver), Cedar Grove, VA., Dora West (Vincent), Onancock, Va., and a devoted daughter, Paulette Epps, Cape Charles, VA.; two brothers, William Moses, Cape Charles, VA. and Samuel Moses (Jeanette), Norfolk, VA.; one sister, Georgia Watty, Atlanta, GA.; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren; special friend, William Harris; and faithful friend, Jessie Lee Battle; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
