WILLIAM STANLEY MOSES, “Big Bro”, was born in Cheapside, Virginia December 29, 1919.  He was one of eight children born to the late Thomas Moses and Bessie Smith Moses.
William attended elementary school in Northampton County, Virginia.  Upon the death of his father, at the age of 9, William partially assumed his father’s position as a deep-water fisherman to help support his family.
William had a deep abiding faith in God and joined Ebenezer A.M.E. Church at an early age.
One of William’s passions in life was using his hands in construction, working as a carpenter.  He moved to New Jersey where he was employed by Labor Construction Local 50, Princeton, New Jersey for many years.  Upon retirement he returned to Northampton County and spent his time farming, which he enjoyed very much.
No one was a stranger to him; he always had a smile and could make friends easily.
He often received a lot of pleasure in conversations about horses and collecting pictures of different breeds.  He liked fishing and enjoyed being close to the wonders of nature and the great outdoors as he planted, and reaped the fruits of his labors.
William’s life expired February 26, 2003 at eleven o’clock in the morning, in Deborah Hospital, Browns Mills, New Jersey.
He leaves to cherish many memories: one sister, Georgia Watty of Atlanta, GA.; one brother, Samuel Moses of Norfolk, VA.; eight children, Thomas Moses, wife, Delores of Willingboro, N.J., Bessie Parker, husband, Willie of Hampton, VA., William Moses, Jr., wife, Leatrice of Trenton, N.J., Gloria Jean Noland, husband, Normando of Philadelphia, PA., Miles Moses, wife, Barbara of Robbinsville, N.J., Randy Moses of Newport News, VA., Marsel Logan and friend, Matt of Hampton, VA., and Antoinette Quinones, husband, Rutilio of Burlington, N.J.; also surviving, twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, one brother-in-law, Walter Townsend, Sr.; other relatives and friends.
