Marie was born in Northampton County, Virginia February 28, 1925 and spent most of her life in the area of her birth. She received her formal education in the Northampton County Public School System. At an early age she was baptized and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church in Wardtown, Virginia.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Bruce Peace.
She was retired from employment with the Harriett Shirt Factory of Exmore, Virginia.
She is survived by: a son, Christopher Peace of Richmond VA; three daughters, Angela Wright of Chesapeake, VA, Cynthia Lewis of Richmond, VA, and Kathy Reid of Norfolk, VA; a daughter-in-law and three sons-in-law; a brother, Ernest Holbrook and a sister-in-law of Dover, DE; a sister, Bertha Holbrook of Hampton, VA; a stepson, James Peace of Norwalk, CT; two stepdaughters, Annie Lee Rowley and Margaret Drummond of Norwalk, CT; numerous grand, and great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; a host of cousins, and other relatives and friends.
