During the early afternoon hours of December 12, 2002 at Shore Memorial Hospital, Nassawadox, Virginia God came and accompanied his son, Gary Lavonne Reid to eternal rest
Gary was born on June 3, 1966 to Frank and Delois Reid of Machipongo, Virginia. He was the youngest of three children. As a young child he attended Antioch Baptist Chruch Treherneville, Virginia. He later was baptized at Zion Apostolic Temple in Dallas, Texas where he became strong in his faith and belief in Jesus Christ.
Gary was educated in the public school system of
Northampton county Virginia graduating from Northampton High School in 1984. He later served his country by enlisting in the United states Army. After his discharged from the United States Army, Gary later relocated to Dallas Texas where he was employed as a Restaurant Manager.
He was a devoted and loving father of two beautiful children Devon Reid, and Kyla Reid. Along with his children, Gary leaves to cherish his memory :loving parents, Frank and Delois Reid of Machipongo, Virginia; a brother, Anthony L Reid of Beaufort, South Carolina; a sister, Karen A. Sams of Chesapeake, Virginia; two nephews, Tracy D. Branch Jr. and Xavier A. Reid; four nieces, Alise Y. Sams, Faith T. Sams, Tamia M. Reid, and Diamond A. Reid; two life long friends, Vernon Moore and William Rucker, Jr; one adoptive brother Alert Thomas, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends
