On December 12, 1923 in Machipongo, Virginia, DELLA C. FLOYD was born to the late Walter and Mariah Floyd.

July 31, 1943 Della Floyd was united in Marriage to James R. Satchell.  From this union they were blessed with two daughters, Edmonia and Delchita.

In March 1986, after thirty-five years of work, Della retired from Shore Memorial Hospital, Nasawadox, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys F. Conner and a brother, Walter Joseph Floyd.

Della is survived by: her two daughters, Edmonia S. Sample of Melfa, VA and Delchita S. Bosques of Exmore, VA; two sons-in-law, Minister Dorice Sample, SR. of Melfa, VA and Tony J. Bosques, Sr. of Exmore, VA; five grandchildren, Antionetta (Eric) Kellam of Melfa, Zenia (Barney) Keys of Chesapeake, VA, Elder Dorice (Thornette) J. Sample, Jr. of Onancock, VA; Tony J. Bosques, Jr. and Deanna Bosques both of Exmore, VA; four great grandchildren; five sisters, Gertrude Ames of Crosswicks, New Jersey, Mary Collins of Trenton, New Jersey, Flossie Stowe of Bronx, New York, and Beulah Rowley of Severn, MD; two brothers-in-law, Deacon Homer Q. Collins of Trenton, New Jersey and Mckinley Satchell of Allentown, New Jersey; two sisters-in-law, Alice Kellam of Exmore, VA and Loraine Satchell of Allentown, New Jersey; one aunt , Clara Bray of Felton, DE; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.
