OBITUARY
Nannie Beatrice Satchell Trower suddenly entered into her eternal rest on March 4, 2005 at Shore Memorial Hospital, Nassawadox, Virginia.  She was born to the late Southey and Anna Satchell on April 10, 1930 who were blessed at the time with twins, Nannie and Southey Satchell, Jr.  They were born in Northampton County, Virginia.

Nannie was educated in the Northampton County system. She enjoyed floral designs and home decorating.  She worked in the private sector and brought extreme delight to those who endured her services.

She was baptized in 1952 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, Eastville, Virginia.  She loved the Lord and was always inspiring and blessing others with expressions of love.  Family and friends loved her.

Her life was about loving every man, woman and child unconditionally.  She believed, if you do well by people, good would come back to you.  She was a devoted and dedicated companion to Ernest Joyner of 42 years.  Her life was about believing in herself without any doubt.  Trusting God was the key to making every day special and becoming a victorious winner.  Taking chances in life played a big part of living for her and bravery paid off with success.  She knew God’s ways were not our ways, and his thoughts were not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9).  Giving from the heart was her desire to see that everyone who came into her presence was happy.   She would always say, “Don’t fear giving, because something good will always come back to you.  Look to the Lord from where your help comes.  Our help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth (Psalm 121:1-2).”

She leaves to cherish her memory,
• four daughters – Shelia (Jay, son), Theresa (Lionel, Jr., Cordey, and Shaun - sons), Dale (Artisha, daughter) and Wanda (Keith, KeiAnna and KeiWana - twin daughters);
• three sons - Parnell (Michelle, Shirelle – daughters); Rickey (Tia, Darrell - son, LaTia˘, Asia and Rickia - daughters) and Earnest (Antoinette, Phillip- son, Rachel - daughter);
• three sisters – Anna (George), Cora (Purcell), and Emma (Charles) -  (two sisters. Mary and Charlotte preceded her in death);
• three brothers – William (late Josephine), Southey, Jr. (Alice), and Samuel (Cora Lee) -  (three brothers, Maxwell (Ada), Harry (Betty) and Richard (Cecelia) preceded her in death;
• one Uncle – Taft (Louise); great grandchildren and a host of other relatives, and friends.

Her additional devoted family included: Katherine (late Benjamin) - Price, Don, Turner, Dorsey  (daughter) and Benjamin (son) Clarke; Mariah, Albert, Mears and Sarah Wells (daughters) Pollard, also Benjamin, Susan and Will (son)  Mears; Cecile (late Albert), Whit (Levin, son); Miner, Bert, Albert and Elijah (sons) Turner; Claudia, Bill, Anna (daughter)  and Thomas (son) Bagwell.

“Without goodbye you fell asleep
With only memories for us to keep
A pleasant smile, a heart of gold
One of the finest the world could hold
Sometimes it’s hard to understand
Why some things have to be
But in God’s wisdom, he plans
Beyond our power to see.”
